Rusty Taekwondo is a local taekwondo club teaching children discipline, fitness, and fun while incorporating the core principles of taekwondo.

Taekwondo is suitable for all ages, helping to build confidence, self-esteem, concentration, and essential motor skills that benefit children at school and at home.
​
Each class is age- and ability-specific, designed to teach martial arts skills in a safe, fun, and exciting environment.

What to Expect in a Class:

Classes begin and end with bowing, teaching courtesy and respect.

Students start by standing to attention, showing they are focused and ready to learn.

Lessons include basic kicking, punching, and blocking, alongside learning how to use their voices effectively.

Students work together on techniques, including fitness exercises and hitting soft pads, all tailored to their age group.

A strong emphasis is placed on self-discipline and safety: skills are only used in class or for self-defence.

Good behaviour is encouraged both inside and outside the dojo.

WHAT IS TAEKWONDO?
Tae Kwon Do (also known as Taekwondo) is the art of self defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years.

The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art:
Tae (foot), Kwon (hand), Do (art).
TAEKWONDO GOVERNING BODIES
Our Taekwondo standards are governed through different governing bodies.
Kukkiwon the World Governing Body with a certification that carries worldwide recognition.

British Taekwondo is a member of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), British Olympic Association (BOA), the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) and recognised by UK Sport, the government agency for High Performance Sport as well as Sport England, as the National Governing Body for WTF Taekwondo in the United Kingdom.

Universal Taekwondo Federation is one of the fastest growing WTF groups in Britain. We host regular competitions including the prestigious British International Open. We also have regular squad training, referee courses and coaching courses.
